#Yamaguchi City.

Sometimes dubbed "the Kyoto of the West", Yamaguchi City is the principal city of Yamaguchi Prefecture and offers visitors many points of interest. The city is also located on the Sanyo Shinkansen line, making it easily accessible from Osaka City.

Known for it's traditional-style white-walled houses adorned with brightly coloured goldfish lanterns, the town of Yanai is one of Japan's underrated gems. Those seeking a truly unique experience can also try their hand at creating their own goldfish lanterns at Yanai Nishigura.

#Iwakuni.

Home to the shirohebi (white snake), Iwakuni has numerous interesting sights to occupy would-be visitors. The city is also easily accessible from the neighbouring Hiroshima Prefecture, making it a wonderful day trip option for those based in Hiroshima City.
