Exploring Shizuoka Prefecture.

For many first-time visitors to Japan, catching a glimpse of Mount Fuji sits somewhere at the top of the list. For those lucky enough to get a clear viewing day, the city of Fuji offers a few lesser-known spots (marked ∞) with uninterrupted views of the iconic mountain.  

 

• Highlights - JR Yoshiwara:  Ukishimagahara Natural Park ∞, Mount Fuji & Port Park ∞, Suzukawa Seaside Sports Park ∞, Myohoji, Suzukawaminato Park ∞.

• Transport - JR Yoshiwara: JR Line trains run from Tokyo to Yoshiwara (with a change at Mishima), taking around 1.5 hours. 
  For those based in Nagoya, JR Line trains run from Nagoya to Yoshiwara (change at Shizuoka) and take less than two hours. 
  For those based in Shizouka City, JR Line trains run directly between Shizouka and Yoshiwara, taking about 40 minutes each way.
