Exploring Tokushima Prefecture.
#Mima.

Straddling both sides of the Yoshino River, Mima is the perfect place for those who love exploring Japan's historic townscapes. Visitors can walk or cycle through the picturesque streets of Udatsu while enjoying traditional wooden homes from the Edo and Showa Periods.
-
Highlights: Udatsu Townscape (pictured), Wakimachi Theater "Odeonza", Yamauchi Indigo Workshop (Japanese tie-dying workshop). Those coming during tulip season (usually mid-April to early May) might also like to consider a visit to De Reike Park.
-
Note: the Udatsu Townscape is around a 30-minute walk from the station; some may need to consider a taxi for this leg of the journey.
#Miyoshi.

The largest municipality in Shikoku, it is certainly worth carving out a few days (or more) to explore the vast natural beauty that Miyoshi has to offer. For those looking to add something a little different to their itinerary, the city is also home to the quirky Nagoro Scarecrow Village.
-
Highlights: Iya Valley Vine Bridge, National Heritage Area Ochiai Village, Oboke Gorge (pictured), Yokai (Hobgoblin) Village, Hashikura Temple.
-
Note: Although most major points of interest in Miyoshi can be reached via bus or train, some may require an additional walk time of up to 30 minutes. For bus times, please check the following website:
